The Empty Nest & Our Identity
This week’s episode came from a real moment.
I was sitting on my daughter’s porch in Florida, holding space for her grief, and somewhere in the quiet I felt my own.
Not because anything was wrong. But because motherhood at this stage looks so different than I expected, and I’m still learning who I am inside of that shift.
If you’ve ever felt the unexpected grief of not being needed the same way (and the equally unexpected space that opens when they step more fully into their own lives) this episode is for you.
She was always underneath the roles. The empty nest is just the first time in years you can finally hear her.
And if you want a gentle place to begin finding her again — The Midlife Map is waiting.
